Entertaining

A joy to watch but too many sound errors. Visiting other reviews, they all seem to have the same problem. Perhaps more time in refinement and this would not have been overlooked.
Nonetheless a very comic and fresh collab for the ever popular The Orange Box. There were some outstanding parts in there that were of quality and great comic relief. Perhaps one of the finest The Orange Box based collabs on Newgrounds.

assasinrabbit responds:

I know alot of people have been complaining of the sound problem. We have been in the process of fixing the sound for a little over a month. The problem just doesn't seem to wawnt to go away. There are some sound errors that can be easily fixed, and they will be done really soon.

Thanks for the review.

Rather Bland

Although the quality of this pivot seems outstanding in relation, the whole content of this particular flash is rather boring and unoriginal.
Other than that, it is good to see quality effort put into pivot animations such as this.
How long did it take to make this if you don't mind answering.

putzpie responds:

Since I didn't work on it every single day, and I'd just work on it when I was bored, or in the mood to, about a month or 6 weeks or so. Total work time might have been 3-5 days? I'm not entirely sure.

laugh out loud entertainment

im not a big fan of strong choppiness and jerky movement implements in stick figures but in this youve done it in a particular way that seems very entertaining and comic to look at. Expectations regarding the wider community in terms of quality, in particular the smoothness of your stick figures, i place aside. I do this not for the reason of comic relief and humour toward the end, but simply in your animating style. This flash is somewhat detailed in the experience of the stick figures, and it is very enjoyable to catch up to the rapid speed and somewhat confusing actions of these particular stick figures.
With continued quality humour not quite such as this but slightly mediocre at best, coupled with this continued animation style, flashes similar to this will be a success. Perhaps an artful background matched with my aforementioned comment on that choppy, rapid style will also help

Questionable title and its presentation

It is clear your directional response toward the d fears videos are obvious but the comic relief and utter lack of depth within this short is something unremarkable and i myself and dare i speak for others is a rather distasteful and bland response to what you have stated in your comments. Yes your boredom leads you towards producing flashes such as this particular installment yet it fails to prevail as a satisfactionary tool for those who are also bored. The humour is clear to understand with clarity in the totally uncalled for tree falling upon its victim is perhaps the only notable thing you have relied on to bring out the so called anticipated freshness from an animator like yourself, Stickmanslicerguy. Out of the most respect possible, it is a rather mediocre performance but somehwat entertaining within a particular niche market.

stickmanslicerguy responds:

thanks for the long review it did clearly deserve a 5 i knew it wasnt going to do to good but i was just trying to see something

animator vs animator?

Sure the title is enticing and apparent with interest at best, but the the message is not clear in terms of directional response toward clearness and clarity within the animation process of your work.
Besides a foul taste in the mouth of anticipation, and dare i say boring at best, you open yourself toward criticism and for that the flash is respectable but this work comes appears bland and a loss of interest becomes apparent. The animation style is particularly interesting, the only thing notable that provides interest but besides that the story and meaning behind this needs improvement. Perhaps a higher attention to detail will help this flash and a more colourful selection of characters is in anticipation. Some nice twists and turns but not enough to be remarkable amongst the creative community and amongst your peers.

peixeaquatico responds:

ok I go improve on next

thank you :>

Overwhelming in terms of disatisfaction

Rather dull and distasteful humor. Anticipation toward russian fireworks is poorly presented and quality is ripped during its climax.
A rather disappointing and in the most respectful way boring at best.

Rather ordinary addition to pen and paper sketch

A rather bland ending with the animated figure. His lust for sex is what the true motive of this drawn figure is and that is somewhat inappropriate and rather distasteful at best.
Crudely drawn but nicely animated for the amount of experience you have. The voice over for the drawer is rather imbalanced and comes across rather overwhelming in terms of volume and contrast with the background music. Slow for the message to come across and a disappointing ending to anticipation, this short is something rather more suited for the niche market i would call that you have presented for.
The character design of the drawer is average and perhaps it is for the best. Yet my attention is toward the drawn character who surprisingly thirsts for the lust of sexual behavior. He comes across initially from what i seemed it to be as a disgruntled office worker of a garbage disposal unit, a rather black and white, ordinary character. Perhaps the more anticipated direction i would say and dare i speak for others would have been in the more action and violence path for which its absents being apparent is disappointing and leaves a foul taste in our expectations.
Hopefully something more tasteful with the same artful, and quality animation would be in call for future animations.

Slackman responds:

Jeez, a cartoon with taste on NG? Setting our sights a bit high are we? Just a joke.

I'm sorry you didn't like the ending. I thought it was pretty funny personally, but I suppose I'm a bit biased. I'm still getting experience with sound, it's not exactly my strong suit as you've noted, but I think it's just something you learn with experience.

The cartoonist was supposed to look like just a normal guy, which is why he comes off as a bit average in design.

Sex or violence, pick your poison. I happen to like them both, I just didn't bother to make this one too violent.

Sorry I disappointed you, I suppose you just can't win them all.

Mediocre at best

This is nothing short of bland anticipation. You place yourself in a position to being critisized and that in itself is respectable, but to be true to yourself your focus toward creative displays such as this needs to be improved and presented in perhaps a more diverse and inspirationally charged flash.
Take in the comments from the reviews previous to this. They are genuine, with interest toward your development and true to the nature of the flash. My advice is simply to work longer on your flash and refine it to the point of being a beacon of anticipation, satisfaction and being something different and remarkable.

A questionable interest in stick figures

This is your collection of your tests and developing skills that you chose to put together and present on Newgrounds. You put yourself in the position of being criticized and judged upon your performances and that is what i will do.
Perhaps being one of the more bland submissions within the genre of stick figures and a sub genre within that being shorts. This comes across as nothing of particular interest or fasincation. Stick figures doing ordinary things, kicking, throwing and punching, nothing remarkable. I understand in order to improve you are developing upon the basics of course and that is respectable at that, but perhaps a debut with the extraordinary was what i myself and dare i speak for others what they were expecting also. Previous reviews to mine obviously involved some of your aliases, all kindly presenting scores of 10s. Surely perhaps this would be enough to give you a confidence boost, but in truth the animation is mediocre for a debut animator at best. Stick figures are choppy in movement at best. There are some notable animations, slightly realistic, comic and cartoonish but there rarity brings this display of development down and the lose of interest becomes apparent.
A rather ordinary collection, but it is good to see development and reading the other reviews it is good to see evidence of their interest in your development too. I hope to see something different if not spectacular in your next flash, although i do somewhat anticipate otherwise. There is always a chance to blow us away with something truly remarkable amongst your peers and the creative community and i hope to see that somewhere in your progress however long it may be.

Shantoflare responds:

Thanks man. I appreciate this review. I really do. I admit, I am quite the horrible animator. But that's why I am trying to get better, and people like you, push me to do my best. I appreciate it man!

Poorly done

You mention "Just watch and enjoy" in you comments. The reason for such low scores previous to this review comes with no surprise and good reason.
This flash is hard to enjoy with the message coming across as bland, distasteful and confusing throughout.
This is not your first flash, and it is dissapointing to see a tiny fraction in improvement, if not none at all with your fourth submission.
Please think twice before thinking this flash will actually entertain us. It might be a joy for you to watch but it is utter embarassment and horrific on my behalf and dare i speak for others for them also.

I love the future.
